Download Instructions
ADV 4300, Kent Lancaster

The procedures for downloading ADplus™ *.dat files described below apply to both on and off campus locations.  If you are not using your own machine, it is important to save your work on a diskette, in Drive A.  This assumption is made throughout the description below.  Of course, if you have your own machine you can save the files in any directory on your hard drive, Drive C, for example.

To download the ADplus™ *.dat files from the College computer labs, you need to have a floppy disk inserted in drive A.  Please save the files on your own diskette, for saving them on the lab computer's hard drive clutters it and makes it harder for other students to use it.

It is better to use the Netscape Navigator web browser to download the ADplus™ files.  When you click on the ADplus™ (MAG20.DAT, NETV.DAT) links, the File Download dialog box will appear, asking you for the location in the computer at which to save the file.  Insert the diskette and select drive A, then click OK.

If you choose to use Internet Explorer, the procedure may be different for older versions of the browser.  If you don't see the File Download dialog box displayed after you click on the link, but observe a text file opened in your browser window, follow the steps below:

Make sure your file has a .dat extension.  If it does not, it will not be recognized by ADplus™ software, and you won't be able to open it and read it.

If you have any questions about this download or are not able to save the files on your diskette, please contact Natasha at 372-7173 during normal business hours.

Good luck!
