Services that Support Advertising Decision

BPA International is an independent auditor of paid, controlled, or both types of circulation of 1,527 business publications and 313 special-interest consumer magazines.   2,500 advertising agencies and advertisers have membership with BPA.

Besides general circulation statement and audit report, various optional audit reports are available to BPA members:

1.  Separate Editions Audit is offered to the publications that have separate editions, such as demographic or geographic, and want to report their circulation independently from each other.

2.  Unit Audit presents an analysis of the number of plants and establishments reached by a publication and is broken down by geographic area.   Additional break-down categories may include business occupation, title, function, volume of business, number of employees, etc.

3.  Supplementary Audit reports the number of qualified buying influences in a publication's circulation; purchased or recommended products; or additional functions/titles of the recipients of a publication.

4.  Duplication Audit determines the number of qualified recipients of two or more publications published by the same
company.

5.  Firm or Corporate Ranking Audit reports the number of copies of a publication that reach top companies within a given
industry, or on an acknowledged industry list such as the Fortune 500.

6.  Network Report presents advertisers with cumulative circulation among two or more publications of the same
company.

7.  Pass--Along Receivership Study offers an analysis of secondary circulation, identifying by name and title other individuals to whom primary recipients pass along copies of a publication.

8.  Postal Service Audit comes out as a result of an agreement between BPA International and U.S. Postal Service, according to which  BPA can verify the necessary data required by the USPS to meet second class mailing requirements.   This relieves BPA International member publications of the necessity to perform a second audit.
