Survey of Buying Power Demographics USA offers researchers access to
population and household growth data, as well as income, sales, and spending information
for consumers in various markets. It contains three editions: county, ZIP code, and city.
Survey of Buying Power (SPB) On-Line is: an Internet-based mapping and reporting
service that offers the following:
- Survey of Buying Power Summary Report
: provides researchers with information about
who lives where, their disposable incomes, and their retail sales climates
- Consumer Expenditure Potential Report
: reports consumer expenditure potential for
about 70 products and services in any given area
- Expenditure Comparison Report
: Similar to the Consumer Expenditure Potential Report,
except it allows comparison of up to four radii for a single report
- Indexed Expenditure Report
: Also similar to the Consumer Expenditure Potential
Report, except this report also includes average household expenditures for each consumer
expenditure category and indices for comparing these expenditures for selected radii
- Demographic Trend Report
: provides population demographics and household information
for any given area
- Income Trend Report
: provides 1990 Census income information in addition to 1997 and
2002 projections
- Income Comparison Report
: contains the same information as the Income Trend Report,
but allows comparison of multiple radii
- 1990 Census Comparison Report: provides information on a number of 1990 Census
variables covering population, household statistics, income, and other demographic
concerns
- SPB Nexis: allows users to create market rankings for different variables
- SPB Analyst: provides interactive mapping and reporting capabilities down to the
block group level
